The M393A4K40DB2-CVF is a Samsung 32GB DDR4 registered DIMM rated at 2933 MT/s in a dual-rank by four organization. Built on Samsung D-die, the M393A4K40DB2-CVF assembles 36 devices of 2Gb x4 organization onto a 288-pin module running at 1.2 V. It ships in tray packaging for server integration.
The x4 device organization used by the M393A4K40DB2-CVF is what enables Chipkill-class advanced ECC in enterprise servers, correcting a whole failed DRAM device rather than a single bit, so x4 RDIMMs are preferred where uptime matters more than module cost. This module is used to populate DDR4 server platforms in the 2933 MT/s generation, commonly two or eight modules per socket.
