  • Quality Inspector-Electronic Finished Goods Specialist

    General Responsibilities:

    Assumes the role as expert in finished electronic goods inspection, which includes hard drives, motherboards, graphics and other cards, and associated computer parts. Uses and develops relationships with product manufacturers, distributors, and testing houses to complete inspection of goods. Has overall responsibility for quality inspection and go/no go decision on electronic finished goods. Completes inspection process and insures that proper actions are being taken to screen for part quality/ counterfeit/ and conformity. Exhibits proper use and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment. Suggests new inspection and testing equipment.

     

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for go/ no go decision on product based on results of incoming inspection. Conducts inspection on inbound devices in conjunction with warehouse receiving team. Reports results to Quality, Warehouse, and Commodity Managers.
    • Responsible for detailed inspection of goods and identification of non-conformances and potential counterfeit and the proper documentation of the inspection process through digital photography, microscopy, and other methods and tools as described in the process documentation.
    • Responsible for learning and disseminating information relating to quality and counterfeiting of goods and helping to develop and implement new methods to identify.
    • Acts as a resource for other warehouses and helps to give guidance and comments on finished goods inspection.
    • Makes recommendations on new testing equipment as well as inspection process changes and improvements.
    • Responsible for proper completion of all inspection processes and the filling out of the quality section of the receiver. Sends out non-conformances to the CM team.
    • Provide support to customers when any quality issues arise; helps to prepare corrective action and follow up on implementation and close out.
    • Responsible for research on product non-conformances to insure they are actual non-conformances and not just form lack of knowledge.
    • Builds relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and test houses in order to improve inspection and product knowledge and vet out nonconformities and answer questions.
    • Responsible for achieving IDEA ICE-3000 certification and maintaining that certification as current on an annual basis.
    • Works to train others in finshed goods inspection.
    • Provide monthly updates on activities and improvements made on processes.
    • Work with the Warehouse manager to further strengthen and improve inspection processes with a goal of 0 defects
    • Suggest improvements in workflow and equipment to make inspection more efficient and effective.
